LUMBER BRIDGE — A Cumberland County man wanted for the Sept. 3 murder of 21-year-old man from Lumberton was arrested Tuesday at a Lumber Bridge home, authorities say.

Rahsheed Williams, 25, of Lawrence Avenue in Fayetteville, was arrested at 9:15 a.m. at a home on Quick Road, according to Brandon Taylor of the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force. Williams was found hiding in a back bedroom, Taylor said.

Williams is charged with first-degree murder, armed robbery and conspiracy in the shooting death of Garrett Alford, of the 100 block of Glenwood Avenue. Alford was found shot to death on Sept. 3 at about 7 a.m. behind a Fayetteville home, according to a statement from the Fayetteville Police Department. There was no information on what led to his murder.

A Lumberton man, 25-year-old Steven Moore, of the 100 block of Maverick Road, was arrested Sept. 5 and also faces charges of first-degree murder, armed robbery and conspiracy. He is being held at the Robeson County jail without bond.

Hello, helllooo.... NAACP? Is anyone there? Can you hear me? We have a crises going on in the black community. I've tried to call William Barber, but he's busy looking for white on black crime and could care less about black on black crime... Does anyone have Al Sharpton's phone number? Oh, I guess he's busy too on the same bus with big-boy William Barber, looking for mean white folks....hmmm? Oh well..

Wat's sad Ross is that everything is all about race. When the white kid was on here a couple weeks ago neither you or Percy had anything to say about him This kid broke into 7 vehicles in 3 days. Follow the link. http://www.robesonian.com/view/full_story/19990648/article-Parkton-teen-faces-16-charges?

Why is is you guys didn't have anything to say about this one? As far as I'm concerned a crime is a crime, be it committed by white, black, Indian, or any other race. I agree with you and Percy about 99% of the time with the comments you guys make because the crime and drugs in Robeson county make this place a dreary place to live but nothing will change if people constantly want to point at one race over another.

IMdraco... You need to ask Donnie Douglas. I did say something about the white kid. Look it up yourself, go back in the links in the news and read what I said.

Also as sad as this point is, it needs to be said. Perception is reality. Now follow me here, when 70% of blacks end up in jail, the perception is all blacks are bad. I'm sorry, I know they're not, BUT 7 out of 10 will end up in prison at some time or another. Don't need to get angry with me, I'm just pointing out what is there, not creating it, just pointing to it. Like me saying it was 79 degrees yesterday, I didn't make the temperature, I just pointed it out.

Eric Holder, Obama's Atorney General said "we are a nation of cowards discussing race"... Well I'm not, but the reason noone will discuss race topics is because they will be called a racist as soon as the discussion starts. But I'm not afraid of the truth, no matter what color.

Draco.. Race is my favorite subject. I'm a professional discussing matters involving race. And I'm good. I love to tweek things a bit in ways you haven't heard race discussed. Everybody can talk about whites, but ol boy... mention another race and the whiners come out. I'm actually color blind, don't see colors like most do, but I'm not afraid of pointing out the truth, with just a bit of unfamiliar racial aspects to get my point across. Don't get mad, do something positive about the points I make.. And please, PLEASE, tell me when I'm ever wrong about racial matters. Never, thats why people get so twisted out of shape.

Happy 236th
Thousands of people were dazzled by the fireworks display at the annual Lumberton Family Fourth celebration at the Lumberton High School football stadium on Tuesday. Many watched the display from parking lots and sidewalks around town and from their own front yards. Before the show, attendees were treated to a performance by the Carolina Breakers, and a stunt by the Army Rangers, who parachuted onto the football field.
