LUMBERTON — A 32-year-old Robeson County man whom authorities say was a member of a cocaine and marijuana trafficking operation has been arrested and is being held without bond.

Huston Princegerald Dial is one of eight people indicted on July 2 for conspiring to distribute and possession with intent to distribute on or before April 2011 until May 9, 2012, more than 5 kilograms of cocaine — about 11 pounds — and at least 1,000 kilograms — 2,200 pounds — of marijuana, according to the United States Attorney General’s Office.

Dial was arrested on Aug. 13 and is being held in the New Hanover County jail without bond. He is being represented by David Venable, of Raleigh.

Details about Dial’s arrest have not been made available.

The Robesonian has received information that Dial resided in Rowland, but could not confirm his exact address. Representatives of the New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office, District Courts in Raleigh and Wilmington and the United States Attorney General’s Office said Tuesday they did not have Dial’s address on file.

Other defendants listed on the indictment are Orlando Acuna-Robinson; Gustavo “Tavo” Campos-Flores; Carlos “Pelon” Fiero; Marco “Guero” Flores-Alvarado; Ernesto “Peter” Galindo-Hernandez; Juan “Chivo” Marvan; and Enrique Mendoza-Figueroa.

Dial is the sixth person affiliated with Stunna Automotive, on McLeod Drive in Maxton, to face drug charges, according to previous reports.

Dial drove a drag car owned by the now 40-year-old Shane Marcus Hunt for Stunna Racing, the auto shop’s drag racing team, according to an online publication that covers races at Piedmont Dragway in Julian, N.C. Coastal Plains Dragway in Jacksonville lists Dial as placing in a race in February 2007.

Hunt, who went by the street name of “Boss,” was sentenced in April 2008 to 32 years in federal prison after pleading guilty to being the head of an operation run out of the auto body shop that distributed more than 11,000 pounds of cocaine, according to a statement from the United States Attorney General’s Office.

Hunt’s partner, Anthony “Boo” Dial, was sentenced on the same day to 31 years in prison, according to the statement.

On Sept. 22, 2006, drug agents purchased of 4.5 ounces of cocaine for $2,200 from Anthony Dial at Stunna Automotive. The auto shop was raided on March 28, 2007, when SBI agents arrested Anthony Dial and two other men, Robert Curtis Jacobs and Mark D. Locklear, according to previous reports.

Hunt’s cousin, Madison Cheek, of Maxton, was sentenced to 10 years in prison in March 2009 in connection with the drug operation, according to a statement from the United States Attorney General’s Office. Cheek sold more than 100 kilograms of cocaine when he began as a drug runner and moved up in the organization to selling the drugs from his home, according to the statement.

Agents from the Bureau of Immigration and Customs Enforcement, the State Bureau of Investigation and the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force assisted in the investigations into the drug operation, according to previous reports.

As mixed as Robeson County is it is disappointing to see that the people here are still so racist. It is not just one ethnic group that is responsible for the crime rate here, it is all races. So why do you have to bash one group. Regardless of what you think WHITES commit as many crimes as the other groups. Yet they are not talked about as much. So do not think they are without fault. And no all the guilty parties are not soley the Blacks, Indians, or Hispanics. SO get your FACTS straight !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

MrsVeronica, Ma'am.. you said you were a teacher... The answer to the education system for our children is apparent by your grammatical errors. You also said you were a voter, let me guess.. democrat?

And last but of course, not least, you said 70% minority would render whites(you assumed I was white) the minority race... Ma'am, you are so RIGHT! I have been saying this for years now. WHITES are the minority race around here, so why don't they get ALL THOSE MINORITY BENEFITS that the so deserve?

The thing needs to change it's name to JULIE-O or something. DIAL was a respected name around here the last I knew of it.

This county cannot withstand another minority race of people moving in with criminal intent. We are already 70% minority, now add the Mexicans coming here joing with other minority races commiting drug and other crimes and we've got problems. Yeah, I know whites commit crimes too, but crime statistics will show, more crimes are commited by minorities than whites on any crime level you choose.

Somethings got to be done around here, yall can call me what you want, but it's the truth.

I disagree. You forgot white collar crime which costs us Billions of dollars and these are committed more by white affluent males and sometimes females. Let's get rid of crime and leave race and ethnicity out of it...

If You have a 70% miniority that would actually make you the miniority genius. You sound as educated as this article. Why was so much time and effort put into still talking about the stunna bust when there are so many problems with our Rob CO school system. As a parent, teacher and voter I am outraged that nothing is being done about the assault on are teacher assistants. They are still being moved from school to school like animals. The pay cuts last year, the firings and after all that the board voted to give raises. I am sure that the residents of Rob Co would much rather know where they miraculously found that money and why their is so much turnover in staff at their schools. Maybe if our education system was not full of crooks;and the

money actually went into the classrooms. Teachers

could actually teach and we could produce a majority of educated productive members of society.

Happy 236th
Thousands of people were dazzled by the fireworks display at the annual Lumberton Family Fourth celebration at the Lumberton High School football stadium on Tuesday. Many watched the display from parking lots and sidewalks around town and from their own front yards. Before the show, attendees were treated to a performance by the Carolina Breakers, and a stunt by the Army Rangers, who parachuted onto the football field.

Do you think the tax structure in North Carolina should be reformed to reduce income taxes in exchange for higher sales tax and more taxes on services?
