MAXTON — A Maxton man and woman have been arrested and charged with robbing a man after breaking into his home on Sunday, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

Joe Neil Locklear, 20, of 335 Pine Forest Drive in Maxton, and Debbie Lynn Locklear, 28, of 535 Stanton Drive in Maxton, are each charged with robbery, first-degree burglary and kidnapping after taking property valued at about $2,100 from the U.S. 74 home of Jose Arizmandi in Maxton, according to sheriff’s Maj. Howard Branch.

Joe Locklear is being held at the Robeson County jail under a $100,000 bond; Debbie Locklear’s bond was set at $50,000.

Arizmandi was using his computer at about 10 p.m. on Sunday when he got up to use the bathroom, Branch said. Arizmandi came back into the room to find Debbie Locklear, who he had known for about two months, sitting in his desk chair, Branch said.

Arizmandi asked Debbie Locklear to leave; shortly after she left, Joe Locklear walked in, pulled out a handgun and hit Arizmandi in the face, according to Branch.

A warrant on Joe Locklear for a June 5 home invasion on Cabinet Shop Road in Rowland will be served today, Branch said. Joe Locklear has previously faced charges of resisting an officer, disorderly conduct, felony breaking and entering, larceny of a motor vehicle and injury to personal property.

This poor excuse for a woman sucks up good oxygen and contributes nothing to society. She has been a hemmorhoid to the community for a very long time. I'm sure central prison has a cot for her. ANY young man that she comes in contact with will be corrupted if he isn't already

as low as she is. It would be great if Robeson County could keep her and all her likes off our streets!! What more does she have to do??? This surely aint her first rodeo!!!

went to school with this loser at Purnell. He was wearing a ankle monitor at school then because he was in trouble with law. can't tell him anything and always a bad attitude. B&E and kidnapping maybe they teach him lesson now. Just goes to show you can't let them go with slap on wrist because always go back for more.

Debbie Lyn is a great person. However, the choice was wrong, and I pray that this negative situation results in a positive outcome.

Thinking of you Debbie

What a waste of life. You're 20 and without a MAJOR turnaround your life is already over, Joe. Get your act together while you still have a chance. I don't know what that woman's excuse is.

Happy 236th
Thousands of people were dazzled by the fireworks display at the annual Lumberton Family Fourth celebration at the Lumberton High School football stadium on Tuesday. Many watched the display from parking lots and sidewalks around town and from their own front yards. Before the show, attendees were treated to a performance by the Carolina Breakers, and a stunt by the Army Rangers, who parachuted onto the football field.

Do you think the tax structure in North Carolina should be reformed to reduce income taxes in exchange for higher sales tax and more taxes on services?
