MAXTON — A Maxton man and woman have been arrested and charged with robbing a man after breaking into his home on Sunday, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.
Joe Neil Locklear, 20, of 335 Pine Forest Drive in Maxton, and Debbie Lynn Locklear, 28, of 535 Stanton Drive in Maxton, are each charged with robbery, first-degree burglary and kidnapping after taking property valued at about $2,100 from the U.S. 74 home of Jose Arizmandi in Maxton, according to sheriff’s Maj. Howard Branch.
Joe Locklear is being held at the Robeson County jail under a $100,000 bond; Debbie Locklear’s bond was set at $50,000.
Arizmandi was using his computer at about 10 p.m. on Sunday when he got up to use the bathroom, Branch said. Arizmandi came back into the room to find Debbie Locklear, who he had known for about two months, sitting in his desk chair, Branch said.
Arizmandi asked Debbie Locklear to leave; shortly after she left, Joe Locklear walked in, pulled out a handgun and hit Arizmandi in the face, according to Branch.
A warrant on Joe Locklear for a June 5 home invasion on Cabinet Shop Road in Rowland will be served today, Branch said. Joe Locklear has previously faced charges of resisting an officer, disorderly conduct, felony breaking and entering, larceny of a motor vehicle and injury to personal property.
