LUMBERTON — Transportation will be one of the issues topping Monday’s meeting of the Robeson County Board of Commissioners.

Robert Bush, transit principal with HDR Engineering Inc., is scheduled to present the commissioners with a five-year plan for the South East Area Transit System. HDR is a consulting company hired by the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

The commissioners will also consider a proposed agreement between Red Springs and Robeson County that would incorporate the town’s current emergency dispatch system into the county’s E-911 communications system.

In other business, the commissioners will:

— Consider a proposed agreement that would allow the county to collect the town of Red Springs taxes for five years instead of two years.

— Consider adopting a franchise for non-emergency convalescent ambulance services for 2012-2013.

— Consider a cooperative service agreement between Robeson County and the U.S. Department of Agriculture/Wildlife Services.

— Make appointments to the county Transportation Advisory Committee.

— Appoint a member to the board of the Lumberton Airport Commission.

— Pass a resolution honoring the town of McDonald on its 100th anniversary.

— Hold public hearings on conditional permit requests for establishment of a solar farm in Maxton; establishment of a day support facility in Saddletree; operation of an educational open amphitheater arts park in Shannon; location of a storage building and hobby shop in Pembroke; and the establishment of a family cemetery in St. Pauls.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. in the commissioners room of the county administration building on North Elm Street.
