RAEFORD — A 22-year-old Raeford man has been arrested and charged with the Thursday night murder of a Lumber Bridge man, according to Robeson County Sheriff Kenneth Sealey.

Quentin Maurice Davis, of 114 Woodland Court, was arrested at 10:34 a.m. on Tuesday at his home and charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of 27-year-old Twaquan Curtis Evans, Sealey said. Davis is being held at the Robeson County jail without bond.

Evans was staying with relatives in a mobile home on the 400 block of Quick Road when he was shot to death, according to sheriff’s Maj. Howard Branch. Branch said two family members heard gunshots while in the living room of the home. According to Branch, Evans came rushing into the home and asked his relatives to call 911, then collapsed and died.

Sealey said sheriff’s Detectives James Obershea and Damien McLean, from the Major Crimes Division, made the arrest and were assisted by the Hoke County Sheriff’s Office.

Davis has previously faced charges of common law robbery and resisting an officer.

@bnp... I agree with your point about one seeing any good in this.....BUT to say that ANY of the participants have only did a LITTLE wrong is an exaggeration... These individuals have been involved in several serious incidents... With one being shot on at least 3 separate occasions within the past year. With that said, it is a terrible situation for both families.... However, eventually the same sword that you swung will one day be swung at you.

GOOD!!!! Two down many more to go!!! Only we gotta support one for the rest of his life!!! If we will be patient, these "WANNABE THUGS" will eventually kill one another faster than we can EXTERMINATE!!! them. GOOD RIDDENCE!!!

Its sick that you think that it was a good thing that someone was killed. You should be ashamed of yourself just because someone has done a little wrong in their life does not mean they should died for it. Thats just like me saying people deserve to die for being idiots and saying stupid things.

@Ross... Is that your joke for every article with a black male in? You are like the kid in Middle School that told the joke once and everybody laughed, therefore you kept telling it. However, you fail to realize that the joke eventually gets old to almost everyone. (with the exception of one or two of your friends) Nothing about this story pertains to the NAACP... For a fact one of the arresting officers is Black... Are you going to advised him to call the NAACP also. Do us a favor and find a new punch line for your so called jokes... Better yet...FIND A LIFE!

Happy 236th
Thousands of people were dazzled by the fireworks display at the annual Lumberton Family Fourth celebration at the Lumberton High School football stadium on Tuesday. Many watched the display from parking lots and sidewalks around town and from their own front yards. Before the show, attendees were treated to a performance by the Carolina Breakers, and a stunt by the Army Rangers, who parachuted onto the football field.
