LUMBERTON — Three people from Fayetteville have been arrested and charged with the murder of a 24-year-old Parkton man, according to the Robeson County Sheriff’s Office.

Antonia Sharome Everett, 26, of 921 Winterberrry Drive; Samantha Ann Weaver, 28, of 5761 Holland St., Apt. A; and Dustin Wayne Fields, 27, of 2910 Sigman St., are each charged with first-degree murder in the shooting death of Doyle Kyle James at his home at 266 Stolz Road in Parkton.

Everett, Weaver and Fields have also each been charged with attempted armed robbery and conspiracy to commit armed robbery. They are each being held in the Robeson County jail under no bond.

Everett was arrested at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he had been treated for injuries suffered during the attempted robbery, sheriff’s Detective James Obershea said. Everett called an ambulance at 12:55 a.m. on June 16 from the Holiday Inn at 3111 N. Main St. in Hope Mills, according to Obershea.

Obershea did not want to release details about what the three were attempting to steal from James.

Weaver has several postings advertising escort services under “star” on the website backpage.com.

James was found in his home at about 9:40 a.m. on June 16 by his father, Doyle Horace James, according to sheriff’s Maj. Howard Branch.

James had come by to pick up his son to go to breakfast, Branch said. When his son didn’t answer the door, James entered the home and found him dead on the floor.

Obershea said the investigation continues. Sheriff Kenneth Sealey said the Major Crimes and Homicide divisions were in charge of the investigation.

I hope and pray that these 3 people are convicted and sentenced to die. Kyle was always a good kid. He had a lot more to live for. He did not deserve this at all.

Thousands of people were dazzled by the fireworks display at the annual Lumberton Family Fourth celebration at the Lumberton High School football stadium on Tuesday. Many watched the display from parking lots and sidewalks around town and from their own front yards.
