Lumbee Study Club plaque at the Robeson County Courthouse marks the approximate location where a cedar tree was planted in 1932 in honor of George Washington’s 200th birthday. The marker is on the east, or back side on a brick wall, in a courtyard with other memorials. The tree apparently no longer exists.The marker was placed in 1937.
