Honor flight
Jesse Lamm, a Lumberton resident, is shown in front of the D-Day Memorial in Washington D.C. He recently joined 100 other World War II veterans who flew to the nation’s capital as part of the Honor Flight program. The program was started in 2004 to fly veterans to the capital to see the memorials dedicated to honor their sacrifices. Lamm participated in the Normandy Invasion on Omaha Beach in 1944.
