UNCP wrestling camps start Sunday
PEMBROKE — The University of North Carolina at Pembroke wrestling team will be hosting a week of youth wrestling camps starting Sunday for wrestlers aged 6 and older. St. Pauls' Kane Banner and West Bladen's Abbey Walters were named the Mountaire Farms/Civitas Media Scholar-Athletes of the Year during a ceremony in Lumberton Wednesday. The two received an additional $1,500 scholarship, in addition to the $1,000 they got as Scholar-Athletes of the Month earlier in the school year.
