The Lumberton boys soccer team spread the wealth in the 7-1 win over Village Christian at home on Thursday. Christian Santos, Sammy Cruz, Rene Altamirano, Cole Lewis, Josh Britt, Jack Cherichella and Jorg Casarrubias had the goals. Jorge Gomez had two assists, Santos added another and C.J. Nemeroff had an assist as well.
TENNIS
Purnell Swett earned its sixth Sandhills Athletic Conference win of the year by defeating Lumberton 5-4 on the road on Thursday. Purnell Swett’s winners included Abi and Harlie Scott in singles, and the duos of Malina Cummings and Elysha Strickland, Abi Scott and Lauren Strickland and Harlie Scott and Tierra Locklear won doubles matches.
VOLLEYBALL
Fairmont topped East Bladen in straight sets. Kaylee McMillian had 16 service points and six aces, Krishay Moore had 11 assists, Kiara Page, Mya Strickland and Maya Bellamy each had seven kills and Mackenzie Johnson added 12 digs
Richmond won the Sandhills Athletic Conference regular season crown and improved to 20-0 in a four-set victory at Lumberton.
Purnell Swett topped Seventy-First in five sets after being down to a 2-1 hole. The Lady Rams used scores of 27-29, 25-16, 12-25, 25-17 and 15-12 to earn the win.
In jayvee football action, St. Pauls topped West Columbus 36-0.
