LUMBERTON — Another two-win week came to Robeson County this week with five road games, but the one game in the county did not disappoint.

Several players shined in the critical moments of Red Springs’ win over South Robeson, and many others had good nights statistically for their teams on the road as well.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Red Springs: For the first time since Week 2, the Red Devils have a win streak, and used a last-minute touchdown to do so. Sophomores played more like seniors on Friday for Red Springs that surrendered a 14-point lead in the fourth quarter to use a fourth-quarter drive to put away South Robeson. The lessons learned on staying focused amid negative moments in losses at South Columbus and against East Bladen were driving forces in the win.

EYE POPPING PERFORMANCES

Denym McKeithan, QB, Red Springs: With two fourth-quarter touchdowns, McKeithan helped the Red Devils avoid a homecoming letdown against South Robeson. McKeithan was the team’s leading passer and rusher with 146 yards of total offense, including 85 yards rushing and a touchdown.

Jerome Bass, LB/FB, Red Springs: Bass did it all on Friday night for the Red Devils. He rushed for a score, kicked the point after touchdown, came up with a pick six in the third quarter and was named homecoming king. The senior also anchored a defense that slowed up the South Robeson backfield.

Braylan Grice, QB, Lumberton: Accounted for 148 yards and two passing touchdowns, passing for 126 yards against Seventy-First
