LUMBERTON — Brittany Berrier and Alyssa Sprouse, a pair of Hard Road CrossFit athletes based out of Lumberton’s Total Elite Fitness, won their division in the Festivus Games held at CrossFit Metanoia in Fayetteville on Oct. 14.

Berrier, a former UNCP softball standout, and Sprouse ranked 35th nationally out of 1798 teams in their division.

“I started my CrossFit journey two years ago, and it’s been a total life change,” Berrier said. “Helping others while making me better is something I enjoy doing on a daily basis. CrossFit brings out the best mentally and physically no matter your age.”

Sprouse added: “I started gymnastics when I was 4 years old and began competing at the age of 8. Unfortunately, I had to quit when I broke my back at the age of 16. I always missed competitiveness that I felt with gymnastics and the desire to stay physically fit. I started CrossFit at Hard Road CrossFit in 2016. CrossFit helps me push myself to be better and helps set personal goals as well as team goals every day.”
