LUMBERTON — It had been six weeks since we last saw three Robeson County teams win in the same week, for those counting at home.

Two teams snapped long droughts without a win and another continued its dominance, and here are some of the top performers from Week 11.

TEAM OF THE WEEK

Purnell Swett: With its seven-point win at Hoke, the Rams snapped a six-game losing streak and got their first win in conference play when its playoff hopes needed some help. Despite not being able to put away the Bucks, Purnell Swett found a way to close the door with its run game late. The Rams also won the most games the program has posted since the 2014 season.

EYE POPPING PERFORMANCES

Luke Oxendine, QB, Purnell Swett: With three touchdowns in the first half, the senior led the Rams to the win and also stayed in a tie for the Sandhills Athletic Conference lead for passing touchdowns at 16 with his second-quarter toss to Chandler Brayboy.

Lee McLean, RB, Red Springs: McLean took over in the second half of the Red Devils’ win over West Columbus and rushed for 161 yards and a pair of scores to get him to 12 touchdowns and over 1,250 yards rushing this season.
