ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. — Saturday was moving day for Fairmont native William McGirt at the RSM Classic on the Seaside course.

McGirt jumped up 37 spots on the leaderboard, into a tie for 13th place with a 5-under 65 in the third round.

On the front nine, McGirt birdied Nos. 1, 7 and 9, and then went back-to-back with birdies on Nos. 15 and 16.

He tees off with Johnson Wagner and Michael Thompson at 10:30 a.m. from the first tee in today’s final round, sitting nine shots back of Austin Cook in first place.

Cook went bogey free for the first 45 holes of the tournament, but dropped a shot on No. 14 in the third round, and then recovered with a birdie on the next hole to keep his three-shot lead over Chris Kirk at 15 under.
