FAYETTEVILLE – Officials of Phenom’s Feast of Champions have announced the schedule for the second-annual Phenom’s Feast of Champions, a nationally recognized high school showcase event which is quickly becoming one of the region’s must-see Thanksgiving high school events.
All games will be played on Nov. 24-25 at Fayetteville Academy in Fayetteville.
In all, 10 of the top teams and players from around the Carolinas are participating in Phenom’s Feast of Champions. Many of the prospects in this year’s Phenom’s Feast of Champions Showcase carry scholarship offers from many of the programs you watch on TV including: UNC, NC State, Wake Forest, East Carolina, South Carolina, Texas, Texas A&M, Florida, Virginia, Wichita State, Xavier, UMass and so many more.
Along with some of the countries elite prospects, this event will bring together some of the elite teams. Three teams in this absolutely loaded field are their state’s reigning champions, Porter Gaud, Village Christian and Burlington School. Burlington School has won 88 of their last 89 games. Over the last two seasons Porter Gaud is a combined 52-7. Last season Greene Central finished 26-2 while Eastern Guilford had a memorable 29-4 record. Fayetteville Academy, Piedmont Classical and Cape Fear Christian all experienced one of the best season’s in school history.
The teams in the event include: Village Christian, Fayetteville Academy, Cape Fear Christian Academy, Greenfield School, Burlington School, Eastern Guilford, South Brunswick, Piedmont Classical, Greene Central and Porter Gaud (SC).
Some of the nation’s top ranked players include: 6-foot-5 five-star senior Coby White of Greenfield, 6-foot-6 four-star senior Aaron Nesmith of Porter Gaud and 6-foot-7 four-star junior Josiah James of Porter Gaud.
Several players have already committed to play basketball at the Division I level. The list includes: Coby White of Greenfield School (UNC), Aaron Nesmith of Porter Gaud (Vanderbilt), Jake Lanford of Porter Gaud (Yale), Elijah McCadden of Greenfield School (Georgia Southern), Josiah Jeffers of Burlington School (Longwood), Jaylen Alston of Eastern Guilford (Gardner Webb)
