Bullock, Thorndyke win Pinecrest Shootout
Billy Bullock and Knocky Thorndyke earned a five-stroke victory over J.D. Revels and Al Wall in the championship flight of the Pinecrest Senior Shootout on Thursday.
J.D. Revels and Al Wall earned a runner-up finish by winning the scorecard playoff. Ronald Moore and Jimmy Stone won a scorecard playoff over Gene Harrison and W.C. Meares to win the first flight.
Lee Hunt and D.J. Jones were the closest-the-pin winners.
The next Pinecrest Senior Shootout will be Thursday with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
Carolina Golf Club to host Holiday Scramble
Carolina Golf Club will play host to the Big Money Holiday Scramble on Friday.
The entry fee for the two-man scramble event is $100 with 25 teams set to participate. The deadline for entry is Wednesday. There will be a noon shotgun start.
First place will pay out $1,200 with second place set to take home $800.

Fairmont’s week in review
Ronnie Freeman and David Hunt were the winners in this week’s Senior Shootout. They won on a three-team playoff. Rick Rogers and Tim Moore finished in second place. Knocky Thorndyke and Billy Bullock were the winners of the second flight, with JT Powers and Charles Blackmon finishing in second place. Richard Moore and Ray Locklear won the third flight, with Johnny Bass and Joe Locklear taking second place. James Howard Locklear, Ronald Moore and Jerry Long were the closest-to-the-pin winners. The Senior Shootout takes place every Tuesday morning with a 10 a.m. shotgun start.
The Collard Classic Tournament will be held on Jan. 1 with a noon shotgun start. This is a four-person Texas scramble format, with a cost of $40 for non-members and $30 for members. Entry fee includes cart and green fees, lunch, meal after play and prizes. Call the pro shop at 910-628-9931 to sign up.
