Jack Britt tops Purnell Swett baseball

FAYETTEVILLE — Purnell Swett’s offense struggled on the road on Thursday night in its 3-1 loss at Jack Britt.

The Rams amassed three hits and a lone run that came in the top of the seventh that wasn’t enough to get out of the deficit it faced entering the inning. The Buccaneers scored all three of their runs in the bottom of the fifth, taking advantage of Purnell Swett starter Ryan Graham in his final inning on the mound.

Graham allowed four hits, three walks and two earned runs in his five innings of work. Bladen Strickland came in to throw one no hit inning in relief.

At the plate, Strickland, Cal Hunt and Ethan Chavis each had a hit for the Rams. Strickland drove in Dakota Locklear for the lone Purnell Swett run.
