Mourners display the flag that was draped over Private Watus Prevatte’s casket at his funeral in Meadowbrook Cemetery in Lumberton in 1918. He was born in 1898 and died on Oct. 10, 1918, while fighting in France during World War I.

Great photo. I wish the Robesonian would publish more historical articles! There is a great pictorial history out there by a historian named Blake Tyner I think he also did one on historic postcards of the County. I think you can probably let these museum near the library. they are well worth it for those insteresed in local history.

Ranger,

We ask for submissions. Some are better than others, but when we don't get one, Blake supplies it.
