LUMBERTON — A Polka dots and Pirates party will be held at 6 p.m. on May 23 at the Southeastern Agricultural Center to benefit the Exploration Station.

There will be live entertainment by Victoria Huggins, crafts, a silent and live auction, hors d’ oeuvres and photos. Tickets are $20 per child and must be purchased in advance.

LUMBERTON — A housing fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on June 18 at Biggs Park Mall. It will provide information about the home-buying process and foreclosure prevention.

FAIRMONT — A Memorial Day remembrance ceremony will held at the Heritage Center in Fairmont from noon until 1 p.m. on May 30.

There will be a guest speaker, a flag ceremony performed by Army Reservists, poems, songs by Lauren Miller, and the handing out of ceremonial poppies.

LUMBERTON — As part of Lunchtime on the Plaza, the Lumberton Police Department’s DARE Band will perform from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Friday.

Bag lunches, of a grilled burger, chips, a dessert and soda, will be for sale for $3.50 between those times.

This is the first of two events, and the second will be held on May 27, featuring Jim Quick & Coastline.
