The Prayer Shawl Ministry group of First Presbyterian Church in Lumberton recently hosted a knit-in-public event at Cracker Barrel to celebrate World Wide Knit-in-Public Week. All knitters and crocheters were invited to knit and have dinner together afterward. World Wide Knit in Public Day began in 2005, when founder Danielle Landes thought it would be good to have a public event to get knitters out of their houses and out socializing.
