Louis Ellis, center, formerly of the Abbottsburg community in Bladen County, celebrated his 100th birthday on July 5 with family and friends at WoodHaven Nursing and Alzheimer’s Care Center in Lumberton. Over the years, Ellis’ family has grown to include four children, 32 grandchildren, 69 great grandchildren and 39 great-great grandchildren.
