LUMBERTON — Auditions for “5 Guys Singing” will be held on Aug. 10 and Aug. 13 at the Carolina Civic Center.

The musical performance will feature male performers in a variety of musical genres, including Broadway, Motown, country and gospel. Auditions will be at 6 p.m. on Aug. 10 and 4 p.m. on Aug. 13.

The director, Kendrix Singletary, is also seeking a male or female host with a large personality and natural comedic timing. The show will be Oct. 14 and Oct. 15 at the Civic Center.

Those auditioning should be prepared to sing and learn a short choreographed movement piece. A capella auditions are acceptable but CD accompaniment is preferred. Be prepared to sing a contrasting song if asked.

Singletary graduated from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem and performed at the Alabama Theatre in Myrtle Beach, S.C. in “ONE” The Show. Kendrix has been signed to the Kim Records Music label in Virginia and is slated to release his album “KendriX” in 2012.
