To the Editor,
I want to take this opportunity to publicly express my appreciation and gratitude to the Pembroke Town Council, the mayor, the staff, and its many citizens during my two and one half years employment with the town of Pembroke. The municipal experience that I gained through the town was one of the most educational and professionally rewarding of my career.
Last fiscal year the town secured over $2.5 million in grant funding that supported its citizens in critical water/sewer infrastructure improvements, economic development incentives to help promote business and community organizations, assisted in community need projects, and provided increased law enforcement personnel and equipment.
The council and the town manager have been extremely aggressive in pursuing these types of funds in an effort to offset costs and provide its citizens with the best services possible. These types of endeavors will pay huge dividends immediately and for the future. I sincerely believe the Town of Pembroke is poised for continued growth and prosperity for many years to come.
I cannot express how supportive the Council, the town manager, the town staff and the wonderful citizens of Pembroke have been during my employment and with my recent transition. From the bottom of my heart, thank you.
Channing Jones
Pembroke

Futher more, how much crediabilty does a man with the following criminal record have for recognizing the truth? Allen Dial, convicted of assault on a female (beating his wife), convicted of drunk driving, and also served a one year prison sentence for shooting into an occupied dwelling. How in the world did this scandral get elected to the Pembroke Town Council?
FYI: A criminal record is public information.
