Devon Lee “Dee” Locklear, 20, of 1327 Red Hill Road, was born Jan. 4, 1991, in Cumberland County to Veronica Jacobs and Horrell Leroy Locklear and departed this life Oct. 27, 2011.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Island Grove Baptist Church, the Revs. Larry Locklear and Gary Thompson officiating. Burial wll follow in Island Grove Memorial Park.
Locklear leaves to cherish his memories, his parents, Sam and Veronica Jacobs, both of the home; and father, Horrell Leroy Locklear of Maxton; six sisters, Ambria Jacobs and Brenda Shanelle Jacobs, both of the home, Brenna Jacobs of Lumberton, Joy Locklear and Tammy Locklear, both of Maxton, and Penny Whitehead of Hamlet; his fiancé, Courtney T. Locklear of the home; five brothers, Gregory Jacobs, Anthony Shane Jacobs and Stevie Jacobs, all of Pembroke, Samuel Jacobs of McColl, S.C., and Leroy Locklear of Maxton; his maternal grandmother, Annie Jarvie McGirt of Maxton; two special cousins, Christopher Lowry and Patty Bullard, both of the home; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The visitation will be from 7 to 9 tonight at Thompson’s Funeral Home in Pembroke.

Carolyn Faye Williamson Baxley, 69, of Evergreen, died Oct. 27, 2011, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Floyd Memorial Chapel in Lumberton, the Rev. Lenore Powell officiating. Burial will follow at New Hollywood Cemetery in Lumberton.
Surviving are her husband, William G. Baxley of the home; two sons, Billy Carroll Lee of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Randy Paul Lee of Eastover; a daughter, Susan Lee of the home; an adopted daughter, Lisa Missell of the home; a brother, Woody Williamson of Boardman; two sisters, Marilyn Hunt of Evergreen and Ann Harris of Chadbourn; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Linda Martin Ballard, 60, of 312 Henry Gainey Road, died Oct. 24, 2011, at Columbus Regional Healthcare in Whiteville.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church in Cerro Gordo, the Rev. Rolle and Elder Robert William officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Tabor Memorial Garden in Cerro Gordo.
Surviving are two daughters, Carrie Taplin and Daphne Ballard; four sons, Bobby Ballard, Jeffery Ballard, Anthony Ballard and James Ballard; sisters, Nancy Thompson, Christine King, Geraldine Jenkins, Vereva Jenkins, Peggy McClain and Rachel Dossie; 12 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.
The viewing will be from 1 to 7 p.m. today at S&L Funeral Home in Fair Bluff and other times at the home of Carrie Taplin, 218 S. Brown St., Chadbourn.

Surviving are two daughters, Ann Marie Carter of Kinston and Patricia Wheeler of Mullins; three sons, Gregory Carter of Kinston, Fredrick Carter of Marion, S.C., and Kenny Collins of Mullins; two sisters, Lois McCollum of Lumberton and Etta Oxendine of Fairmont; two brothers, Billy Hunt and Ervin Hunt of Greensboro; 16 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
