FRINGE: UNCP Challenge set for Saturday

The second annual UNCP School of Business Golf Challenge will be held Saturday at Scotch Meadows Golf Course in Laurinburg. It begins with a 9 a.m. shotgun start.

Proceeds will be used for student scholarships, student and faculty travel, and student enhancement projects.

The format is four-person captain’s choice. The entry fee is $60 for individuals, but UNCP students can play for the discounted rate of $40. The entry includes cart and greens fees, refreshments, a meal after play, and plenty of prizes.

There will be golf packages for the top three teams, and members of the last place team will get a club fitting and putting lesson. There will be a $5,000 putting contest, and a $1 million shootout.

Sponsorships range from $100 to $2,500.
