To the Editor,

I would like to invite your readers to a Community Needs Assessment Afternoon Tea and Fashion Show sponsored by Goodwill Industries of Eastern NC. The event will take place on Nov. 12 at 2 p.m. at the Robeson County O.P. Owens Agriculture Center located at 455 Caton Road.

While the time shared will be fun and entertaining, there is a much bigger goal in doing this event. Before attendees enjoy the fashion show and refreshments they will be asked to complete a short anonymous community needs survey. They will be asked to share areas of improvement they feel the community can work toward to make Lumberton and Robeson County a more prosperous place to live and raise a family.

Goodwill Community Foundation is sponsoring the survey. As an organization we desire to improve our local communities and what better way of doing so than asking the citizens what they need and want to see and then helping them make those ideas become a reality.

Admission is free but seating is limited. Get free tickets at these locations: Robeson County Library, 101 N. Chestnut St.; Robeson Church & Community Center, 600 W. Fifth St.; Chamber of Commerce, 800 N. Chestnut St.; and Cakes and Pastries, 1810 N. Pine St.

Additional volunteers are needed. If anyone is interested in helping this great cause for the community please contact me at (919) 236-9651 We look forward to seeing your readers at the event as we work together to make Robeson County a place we are all even prouder to call home.
