The funeral will be 3 p.m. Monday at East Laurinburg Baptist Church, the Rev. Richard Tyson officiating. Burial will follow at Scotland Cemetery.
Surviving are his wife, Mary Ann Chavis of Salisbury; two sons, Jeremy Chavis and Brandon Chavis, both of Salisbury; a brother, Danny Chavis, of Bennettsville, S.C.; and six sisters, Mildred Doss of Columbia, S.C., Joyce Goins of Maxton, and Geraldine Luther, Peggy Locklear, Jean Chavis and Darlene Beasley, all of Laurinburg.
The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at Boles Funeral Home.
