FAIRMONT - The Fairmont Board of Commissioners took no action Friday after meeting for 75 minutes in closed session to discuss personnel.

Commissioners say privately that the matter involves Town Manager Ben Hill, who was placed on administrative leave with pay on April 8. The commissioners had expressed concern last month that Hill was spending town money without proper authorization.

This is the second time in less than a week that the board has met in closed session. The board met for more than 90 minutes on Monday to discuss personnel. No action was taken at that time.

At Friday's meeting, the board asked Town Attorney Charlie Floyd to join the closed door discussion. After about 30 minutes, Interim Town Manager Katrina Tatum was asked to join the meeting. Floyd and Tatum did not attend Monday's meeting.

Mayor Nedward Gaddy declined to say what the board talked about at either meeting.

Gaddy said he hoped that the board could come to some resolution at Tuesday's regular board meeting.

"I may be able to talk then," he said.
