Musical comes to UNCP on Friday

PEMBROKE - Everything in the Lone Star State seems in excess, and its dirty, little secrets also stay "hidden," even when becoming common knowledge.

And we're not just talking football, oil, politics or cowboy fables. Take the stories told about "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas."

Lots of facts about the Pflugerville brothel, a city just outside Austin, are mixed with Texas-sized fiction for the Broadway musical that was nominated for six Tony Awards in 1979. It will be performed Friday at 8 p.m. at The University of North Carolina at Pembroke's Givens Performing Arts Center.
