To the Editor,
I am the son of Carolyn Lewis, who lives on Mill Branch Road in Fairmont. Her home was broken into on Nov. 7.
There was an article printed about the incident, but the report in the paper stated she was not injured. This is not true! When the robber came through the door on her, he shoved her into an old kerosene heater. After that, he shoved her onto her kitchen floor.
My mother is 65 years old and fragile. She was helpless and unable to fight back. She remained on the floor after he left and crawled to the phone because she couldn’t get up. For two days, she couldn’t hardly walk and move around. Today (Thursday) her leg is severely swollen and her back is badly bruised. I feel like he should be charged with assault and battery and home invasion.
I feel like the article was misleading and the officer didn’t give the true facts.
