Orrum names top students

ORRUM - Orrum Middle School recently announced its Students of the Month for February.

They were:

Grade 5: Tyler Sutton, Raymond Hunt, Chelsea Suggs and Drequanna Gerald.

Grade 6: Martin Bullard, Joshua Sellers, Nicole Brown and Corey Lindsey.

Grade 7: Summer Brumbles, Cody Adams, Crystal Floyd and Destiny Oxendine.

Grade 8: Leann Locklear, Samantha Hollingsworth, Joseph Willoughby, Christian Ward.

Also on the list were Tanisha Hammonds, Everette Britt, Shelia Huggins, Marissa French and Stephanie McLean.

William Leggett, the career technologies teacher, was named the Teacher of the Month. Brenda Locklear, who works with the exceptional student, is the Teacher Assistant of the Month.

Green Grove names its Positive Panda

FAIRMONT - Green Grove Elementary recently named its Positive Pandas for having outstanding behavior.

They are:

Kindergarten: Alesia Bartley, Colton Davis, Jeremy Cox, Jarrett Hunt, Devin Carter and Haylon Hunt.

Grade 1: Raven Oxendine, Isaiah Blakley, Tasia Blakley, Jessica Lambert, Heaven Oxendine, Jonathan Oxendine and Donte Ledbetter.

Grade 2: Shane Oxendine, Destiny Quick and Brionna Lewis.

Grade 3: Alia Warsco, Mariah Kirkwood, Tanizja Brown, Guwanna Rocha, Erica Nelson and Breeana Hunt.

Green Grove names its Panda Patrol

FAIRMONT - Green Grove Elementary recently announced its Panda Patrol members for Feb. 28-March 10.

They are Shekeena Worley, Travis Mayers, Laveka Casey, Darius Smith, James Troy Hunt Jr. and Hannah Hunt.

FAIRMONT - Green Grove Elementary recently named its Terrific Kids.

They are Selena Rocha, Jonathan Oxendine, Heaven Oxendine, Colton Davis, Talesha Dismukes, Samire Lowery, Regena Stanley, Sky Hunt, Mariah Kirkwood, Benjamin Bradford and Luke Andujar.

Evers receives science award

LEXINGTON - Jacob Evers recently received a science award from the United State Achievement Academy.

He attends West Davidson High School. His parents are John and Gail Evers. His grandparents are the late Ambrose Chavis and Mabel Sanderson of Pembroke and Betty Thrash of St. Pauls.
