It has recently come to my attention that a St.Pauls Institution will cease to be in September. BC Moore’s has been in St.Pauls as long as I can remember. I feel this is a shame for it to close and the 8 employees who have worked there for so many years to be out of job. I understand that the Chamber of Commerce is circulating a petition to keep it open. I encourage everyone who reads this to find one and sign it. I understand that they are located at various locations in our town including D.D. Mccolls and Brisson Drug.

I am under the impression that the company that has purchased BC Moore’s wishes to keep the store open just under a different name. I also understand that the building is owned by three people and one of them wishes not to sell. I do not know the names of any of the owners but the one holdout is going to cost the town a great place to shop and the employees a job that some of them have had for over 20 years. I would also like to encourage the readers who know who the owners are to encourage them to sell the building for the good of the community. St.Pauls is already a different town than the one I grew up in and I would hate to see the last vestiges of my childhood memories be taken away. Please sign the petition to keep this store open, even if the name will change because I know the great customer service you so seldom find in a mall but is prevalent here will continue.
