Charged was Terrance Currie, 24, of Milk Dairy Road, near Red Springs.
According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, after Currie went off the road to the right in his 1994 Honda, he struck several trees and flipped into a ditch. The other vehicle, a 2005 Suzuki that was being driven by Shreef Washington of Raeford, struck the ditch also and overturned.
Travis Graham, 27, of Laurinburg, was killed in the accident that took place north of Shannon on NC 71N about 12:45 p.m. last Tuesday afternoon.
All the injured were transported to Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton but Currie and two others were taken to another hospital, a spokesman for SRMC stated.
The two cars were traveling south on NC 71N. Currie was said to have seen a tractor-trailer in the northbound land and when he attempted to get back into his lane, that was when he struck the Suzuki. The seven individuals in the accident were on their lunch break from Ellery Homestyles plant near Lumber Bridge when the accident occurred.
Gary Malloy, 26, of Laurinburg, was a passenger in Mr. Washington’s car. Christy Ray, 18, of Red Springs; Lavester Chavis, 21, of Wagram; and Shucera McNeil, 19, of Maxton, were all passengers in Currie’s car.
