Lumberton

Edgar Lee Phillips, 86, of 125 Phillips Drive, died Feb. 15, 2007, at Linkhaw Place.

The funeral will be 2 p.m. Sunday at Antioch Baptist Church, the Rev. Mark Meadows officiating. Burial will follow at the Phillips family cemetery.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Lee Phillips and Agnes Long Phillips; his wife, Lois Downing Phillips; three sons, Wayne Phillips, Edward Phillips and Ronald Phillips; a daughter, Karen Davis; a brother, Rudolph Phillips; and a sister, Daphine Wiggins.

Surviving are five sons, Boyd Phillips and his wife, Frances, Bo Phillips, Russell Phillips and his wife, Vickie, and Glenn Phillips and his wife, Linda, all of Lumberton, and Gary Phillips of LaGrange; two daughters, Sue Katzenberger and her husband, Jim, and Lorraine Watson and her husband, Doug, both of Lumberton; a brother, Robert Lee “Buddy” Phillips of Lumberton; two sisters, Ruby Britt and Letha Williams, both of Lumberton; 21 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Floyd Mortuary & Crematory Inc. in Lumberton.
