Edith Jacobs, 61, of 3799 Midway Road, died May 11, 2007, at UNC Hospitals in Chapel Hill.
The funeral will be 3 p.m. Tuesday at Shoeheel Holiness Methodist Church on U.S. 15-501, Maxton, the Revs. Eugene Chavis and Dwight Deal officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
Jacobs was born July 26, 1945, in Robeson County. She worked at Converse Leather Company for 27 years.
Jacobs was preceded in death by her parents, Luther and Retha May Jacobs; a daughter, Lisa Ann Jacobs; a sister Rachel Jacobs; and a brother, Verdell Jacobs.
Surviving are a son, Kenny Lee Jacobs of the home; a daughter, Elizabeth Ann Locklear and her husband, Marcus, of Maxton; a special daughter, Doris Oxendine; four sisters, Betty Lois Locklear, Annie Lois Oxendine, Letha Mae Harris, all of Maxton, and Karby Locklear of Rowland; a special aunt, Bertha Locklear of Fairmont; seven grandchildren, Kenneth Jr. and Kenneth Dwayne Jacobs, Miranda Jacobs, Landan Locklear, Terry Jr., Adam and Latoia Chavis; and a special friend, Sherman Locklear.
The family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Boles Funeral Home in Rowland.
