NEW YORK — North Carolina coach Roy Williams received his fourth verbal commitment from the 2009 national class, when 6-3, 175-pound point guard Dexter Strickland, rated the No. 1 point guard in the class of 2009 by Scout.com
and No. 10 prospect overall, gave his verbal pledge to the Tar Heels.
According to Web site InsideCarolina.com
, Strickland called Williams a “good friend” and was enamored with the Dean E. Smith Center and the coaching staff as a whole.
Strickland also considered offers from Michigan State, Indiana, Memphis, Ohio State and Villanova.
