Mr. Joel S. “Jay” Sellers, 80, of 200 Lindsey Drive, Lumberton, NC, and formerly of St. Pauls, died Saturday, November 22, 2008 at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

His funeral service was held Tuesday, November 25, 2008 at 3 PM in Saint Pauls Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bruce Brumsfield and Rev. Thomas Britt officiating.

Burial followed in Oak Ridge Cemetery. During his life, Jay had served in the National Guard, worked in textiles and enjoyed singing gospel music.

Jay is survived by his care giver - Frances Britt of Lumberton; sisters, Mary Ratley, Catherine Evers and Estelle Byrd of St. Pauls; step daughter, Elizabeth Britt of St. Pauls; 7 grandchildren and several great grand children. Saint Pauls Funeral Home served the family.
