ST. PAULS — A Parkton man was killed in a single-car accident this morning after being ejected from his vehicle when it overturned, according to the state Highway Patrol.

Charles Devon Floyd, 43, of 1712 Barlow Road, was traveling north on Covington Farm Road, three miles east of St. Pauls, when his 1993 Acura crossed the center line, he over-corrected and the vehicle exited the road on the right and struck a ditch, according to a report by Trooper S.C. Hunt. After impact, the car overturned and struck a utility guide wire, and came to rest on its top in a residential yard.

Hunt said Floyd, who was not wearing a seat belt, was traveling at an estimated 65 mph in the 55-mph zone. The accident occurred shortly after 2 a.m.
