BLADENBORO — A Bladen County woman had just arrived home Wednesday morning when two intruders came out of her home and began firing shots at her as she sat in her vehicle, according to authorities.

The woman was taken to Southeastern Regional Hospital in Lumberton, where she reportedly underwent surgery. Her name is not being released publicly for safety reasons.

According to Capt. Rodney Hester with the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, the incident took place at about 11 a.m. Wednesday on the 15000 block of Twisted Hickory Road.

“The homeowner arrived home to find a gray, older-model car in the driveway,” Hester said. “Two black males exited the residence and the victim was shot.”

Hester did not say how many times the woman was shot or if both men had fired shots. The woman, who is in her 60s, managed to call 911.

The men reportedly got into their vehicle and left the area, heading in the direction of Columbus County.

Hester said one of the men has dreadlocks and the other has a close haircut.

Anyone with information should call the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office at 910-862-6960.

Perfect case right there to just shoot, shovel, and shut-up when these things are run to ground. Or, straight to see Judge Lynch. Either way will work nicely.
