Special events

The Fellowship Among Christian Churches has announced its schedule of services.

Pastor Maxie Dobson will speak at Tabernacle of Miracles on April 29.

Bishop Ricky Deese will speak at Praise and Worship Ministries on July 29.

Buie will speak at St. Joseph Miracle Revival Center on Sept. 30.

The Hometown Quartet will be at the Hyde Park Baptist Church at 6 p.m. on Sunday. The event is sponsored by the Sr.’s Joy Club.

There is no charge. Church officials will take up love offerings.

Regan Road Methodist Church of Lumberton will have family night supper at 6:30 p.m. on March 21.

Pentecostal United Holy Church will have its men’s conference at 7 p.m. nightly Wednesday-March 16.

Speakers include the Rev. Charles Parker of Orrum 1st Baptist Church on Wednesday, Bishop G.W. Winston of Townsend Chapel Bible Church of God on Thursday and elder Larry McLean of St. Mary United Holy Church on Friday. The men’s choir will sing each night.

A fellowship dinner will be held Friday night after service.

The conference is for men only.

The Youth Choir of Greenville Baptist Church will host a “Men’s Day Program” on March 25 at 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

The Pastor’s Aide Committee of Greenville Baptist Church will host a “Little Miss Pastor’s Aide” program on March 18 at 4 p.m. Everyone is invited.

The Stations of the Cross services are being held every Wednesday at 5:30 p.m. at Trinity Episcopal Church, 1202 N. Chestnut Street, and will continue every Wednesday during the season of Lent. The services, led by Dr. Stan Knick, director of the Native American Resource Center at UNCP, commemorate the last hours before the crucifixion of Christ, with accompanying Scripture and prayers. The Holy Eucharist and Healing with Father Roger Kappel as celebrant will follow each service. Visitors are welcome.

Lenten Souper Sundays continue at Trinity Episcopal Church on Sunday at 5:30 p.m.. A light supper that includes soup and sandwiches prepared by Trinity’s parish “chefs” will be served each Sunday. A lenten study, “In the Footsteps of Jesus”, will follow the suppers. Father Roger Kappel will share pictures from his recent visit to the Holy Land. Visitors are welcome. The Stewards of Turner Station African Methodist Episcopal Church will observe their Annual Day on Sunday. Church school starts at 9:45 a.m. Morning worship at 11 a.m. Lunch at 1:30 p.m. The speaker for the evening service is Rev. Evelyn G. Dunn, pastor of St. James AME Church, Whiteville, Presiding Elder Southern District of North Carolina Conference of African Methodist Episcopal Church of the Second District.

The deacon ministry of Greater New Bethel Missionary Baptist Church presents Judy and the Girls of Rowland at 4 p.m. on Sunday.

Bethany Presbyterian Church will have its annual ‘Women’s Pew Rally’ at 4 p.m. on March 18. The theme is ‘Changed by God’s Steadfast Love.’ The speaker will be evangelist Angela Faulkner. Music by Miracle Zion Church choir and various church choirs.

Center Grove Missionary Baptist Church will have an appreciation banquet for Dr. and Mrs. Samuel Norman Sr. at the Matthew J. Rouse Resource Center at 6:30 p.m. on March 16.

Charity Church of God will have a fundraiser from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 31. There will be a jewelry sale, wide flat-screen TV raffle and refreshments for sale.

Chestnut Street United Methodist Church will present a dramatization of Leonardo da Vinci’s “Last Supper” at 7 p.m. on Maundy Thursday, April 5.

The youth of the church will re-enact the scene of the painting, dressed as disciples.

The adult choir will present choral interludes.

The public is invited to this program which is under the direction of Judy Seals. Harriette Lovin is directing the choir. The Rev. Steve Little is the pastor.

Singing

Voices of the Heart, an all-girl teenage christian vocal group, will perform at Hickory Grove Baptist Church, located at 6414 Center Road, Bladenboro, at 6 p.m. on Sunday. Food/plate sales

Fellowship Holiness Church will have a plate sale from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on March 23.

A combination plate costs $7, a BBQ plate costs $6 and fried chicken or chicken and rice plates cost $6. With choice of two sides: string beans, potato salad or baked beans, slaw with bread and cake.

Anniversaries

First Free Will Baptist Church will celebrate the 50th anniversary of its adult choir at 3 p.m. on Sunday.

Various choirs and gospel music groups have been invited to participate in this celebration.

The Spring Branch Baptist Church of Fairmont will be celebrating the 19th pastoral anniversary for their pastor, the Rev. Robert Young on March 18.

Sunday school starts at 10 a.m. followed by morning worship at 11 a.m. Dinner will be served immediately following morning worship service.

There will be an afternoon service at 3 p.m. Everyone is invited.

The pastor’s aide committee and members of Jerusalem Chapel Free Will Baptist Church of Chadbourn will celebrate pastor Fredrick Murray and family’s 10th anniversary, beginning with a banquet at 6 p.m. on March 17 at the Brunswick Waccamaw Association building, 600 Pine Log Road in Whiteville.

The celebration will conclude on March 18 with morning worship service at 11 a.m. and afternoon service at 3:30 p.m. at the church located at 2713 Joe Brown Highway North in Chadbourn.

Apostle Anthony Buie, the pastor of St. Joseph Miracle Revival Center Solid Rock Ministries in Red Springs will be the guest speaker at 3:30 p.m.

Full Gospel Tabernacle of Life Church will have a community food drive from noon to 2 p.m. on March 24.

Health fair

The Round Branch Baptist Church of Bladenboro will hold its annual health fair from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Theme: “Spring Into Good Health”. Varioius Bladen County agencies will be on site with free information to give. Blood pressure checks, Glucose checks and Body Mass Index will be offered.

The health fair is free to the public. Door prizes and a healthy bag lunch will be provided.
