Free ED treatment

seminar April 12

LUMBERTON — Carolina Urology and Dr. Timothy Moses will host a seminar about effective treatment for erectile dysfunction and stress urinary incontinence on April 12 in the Assembly Room at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton. Check-in for the free seminar will begin at 6 p.m., with the program being from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m.

Information will be presented about ED and bladder control problems and treatment options. A previous patient will also share their experience. Space is limited and registration is requested by calling 1-877-433-2873.

Walk-a-thon to

benefit St. Judes

LUMBERTON — A walk-a-thon will be held by Christian Hearts on April 21 to benefit St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital.

It will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Luther Britt Park, shelter B. The deadline for registration is at 9 a.m. that day.

There will be live entertainment and games for kids. T-shirts will be sold for $10.

Fibromyalgia group

to meet on Monday

LUMBERTON — The Southeastern Neuromuscular Rehabilitation Center sponsors a Fibromyalgia Support Group that will meet at 4 p.m. on Monday. Dr. Joanne Pizzino will present a program entitled fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome: real diseases, real solutions.

Meetings are held at the Southeastern Lifestyle Day Spa, which is located behind the Southeastern Lifestyle Center for Fitness and Rehabilitation at 4895 Fayetteville Road in Lumberton. Refreshments will be provided. Registration is required by calling 910-735-2830 or emailing locklc06@srmc.org.

Diabetes support

group to meet Monday

LUMBERTON — The Diabetes Community Center, an affiliate of Southeastern Regional Medical Center, sponsors a Diabetes Support Group that will meet at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.

Dr. Richard Beauchemin, an ophthalmologist of Southeastern Eye Clinic, will discuss eye health. Meetings are held at the center, which is located at the new Southeastern Health Mall on the campus of Biggs Park Mall in Lumberton. For information, call 910-671-5890.

Cancer awareness

event on Thursday

LUMBERTON — Gibson Cancer Center, an affiliate of Southeastern Regional Medical Center, is hosting an skin cancer awareness event on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

The event, which is open to the public, will offer information on ways to avoid skin cancer and what signs to look for when checking your skin. Door prizes, an Easter Egg Hunt and refreshments will be provided. For information, call 910-671-5782.

Weight Loss Center

offers more options

LUMBERTON — Southeastern Weight Loss Center, an affiliate of Southeastern Regional Medical Center, now offers more options for weight loss success.

Dr. Barry Williamson, of Lumberton Surgical Associates, will host seminars on LAP-BANDTM on Thursday and April 24 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. each day at Southeastern Weight Loss Center located at 2934 N. Elm St. in the Southeastern Health Mall on the campus of Biggs Park Mall in Lumberton.

Dr. Eric Velezquez, of Southeastern Surgical Center, will host seminars on a variety of weight loss surgery options, including adjustable gastric band, sleeve gastrectomy, and Roux-en-Y gastric bypass on Wednesday and April 18 from 6 to 7 p.m. each day, also at the weight loss center.
