Book 'Em North Carolina, a writers conference and book fair, and Robeson County Arts Council presented four checks for $2,250 from the book sales on Feb. 25 to the United Way for the Dolly Parton Imagination Library; Communities In Schools for literacy campaigns in the schools; Friends of the Robeson County Public Library for literacy projects; and the Lumberton Police Department for anti-crime efforts. The donation totaled $9,000.
