To the Editor,

I wanted to take a moment to thank a very loyal public servant of the citizens of Robeson County.

Too often we who now live outside our birthplace only hear of the negative coming out of the county. Having been born and raised there and having myself spent many years there as a public servant of both the city of Lumberton and Robeson County as a detective, I also know that many times the good these folks do for the taxpayers gets lost in the shuffle. After having been gone for almost 25 years now, I found myself in dire need of a certified copy of my birth certificate. Yes, a small thing, but important to me at the time.

I contacted Vicki Locklear directly as I have known her for many years. She at once took care of my need and handled it personally as if I were the only person in the world right then and I had it in my hands within 24 hours of that contact. Having spent all these past years living in a much bigger city, I can assure you I would have never received the same attention here.

The citizens of Robeson County are very fortunate to have such a wonderful, friendly, helpful person as Vicki willing to serve as the register of deeds.
