LUMBERTON — The Alive After 5 concert series continues Thursday with a performance by Jim Quick and Coastline, giving locals an opportunity to dance to the beat of country-soul.

The event, which is free to the public, will take place on the corner of Third and Chestnut streets from 7 to 9:30 p.m, with the band facing the downtown plaza and the fountain area. There will be a dance floor set up for people to groove to the five-member group spearheaded by Jim Quick, recipient of the Carolina Music Award’s Entertainer of the Year award nine times.

Burgers and steak sandwiches will be available from Rock’n Dean’s, and ice cream will be sold from Boo Doodle. Tickets to purchase beer will also be available.

Thursday’s event is the second of five, which will be held every other Thursday.

Other bands scheduled to perform are Craig Woolard on May 31, Carolina Breakers on June 14, and Holiday Band on June 28.

In case of rain, all concerts will be rescheduled. The forecast for Thursday night is partly cloudy with temperatures around 80 degrees and a 20 percent chance of thunderstorms.
