Gays aren’t bad people, they are under affliction of Satan

To the Editor,

It is not hard to understand what Mr. Rozier said about gays in his letter published May 10. But, I think we are going at the problem the wrong way.

First, gays are not bad people. They are just trying to live and be part of society while under the affliction Satan has put on them. They are innocent. Satan is the guilty one.

I call on Robeson County churches to set up recovery stations. Invite gays and straight people in so gays will not be labeled. They have been embarrassed and ridiculed enough. Pray for Jesus to help them crawl from under Satan’s affliction. Rebuke Satan for what he has done to some good people. Teach them to do what James says at James 4:7 — “Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” I say again, rebuke Satan. He has turned many of God’s children in the wrong direction just to spite God.

Churches should gather 7 to 9 p.m. every Thursday. Take in whosoever will come. Ask no questions. Don’t browbeat and ridicule. Don’t drag anyone up to the altar. Pray and let Jesus do the work he can do best. Many good people will come free of a bad affliction.
