Bernard “Bob” Franklin Lowry Jr., 74, of 401 E. Main St., died June 14, 2012, at Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Lumberton.

The funeral will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Rowland United Methodist Church, the Rev. Butch Farrah officiating. Burial will follow in the Rowland Cemetery.

Lowry was born in Robeson County on Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1937, to the late Bernard F. Lowry Sr. and Lillie Mae Strickland.

He was a retired veteran of 32 years in the U.S. Navy.

He is survived by his wife, Dessie Deloris Oxendine; a son, Bernard “Tres” Franklin Lowry III of Rowland; two daughters, Tamarah Lowry of Rowland and Lisa Noel Lowry Beasley of Virginia; a sister, Joan Lowry of Pembroke; five grandchildren, Hunter Lowry Beasley, Blake Maxwell Williamson, Briley Nichole Lynn Williamson, Solomon Steele Lowry and Samuel William Steele Lowry; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Boles Funeral Home Chapel in Rowland.
