LUMBERTON — A Lumberton man remains in the hospital after being shot once in the back early on Thursday, according to Lumberton police.
Darien Lewis, 21, of Lovett Road, was shot while in the roadway of the 100 block of Lovett Road at about 2:36 a.m., police Sgt. Harold Jackson said. A 911 call was placed by James Breeding, who shares Lewis’ address.
No one else was injured in the shooting, and no property damage was reported. Jackson said several shell casings found at the scene indicated that up to three guns were involved in the shooting.
Jackson said the investigation continues.
