Carter-Locklear
The late David Earl and Annie Gail Carter Brewer and the late Homer Brewer of Lumberton are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Adriane Nicole Carter, of Lumberton, to Barney Lee Locklear, son of Felton “Bam” and Evenlyn Locklear, of Red Springs.
Carter is the granddaughter of Dollie and the late Horace Hardin, and John Edmond “Bud” and the late Gladys Carter of Lumberton. She attended Graduate Riverside Christian Academy and is currently attending Bladen Community College and working for the Public Schools of Robeson County.
Locklear is the grandson of the late Dorothy Locklear, Delton and Mary Locklear and Eunice Frizzell and the late Bobby Locklear, of Red Springs. He attended Red Springs High School and works for Scotland Correctional Institution of Laurinburg.
The ceremony will be held at 4 p.m. on July 21 at Riverside Independent Baptist Church at N.C. 74 West.
Hunt-Cogdell
Rose Mary Brooks and the late Bobby Ray Hunt Sr., of Fairmont, are pleased to announce the engagement of their daughter, Bobbie Hunt Winningham, of Parkton, to Karrem Cogdell, son of Vernice Jackson and the late Horace Jackson of Whiteville.
Winningham is the granddaughter of the late Rosie Benton and James Gibson of Wilmington, and the late Minnie and James “Nick” Hunt, of Fairmont. She attended Fairmont High School and Robeson Community College and works for Mountaire Farms.
Cogdell is the grandson of John D. and Willow Dean Cogdell of Whiteville. He attended Whiteville High School and works for Mountaire Farms.
The ceremony will be held at 3 p.m. on Aug. 26 at North Myrtle Beach, SC.
Dunn-Bedtelyon
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth R. Dunn, of Fayetteville, announce the engagement of their daughter, Hillary Beth Dunn, to Jonathan David Bedtelyon, both of Fayetteville.
Dunn is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Pittman Chavis of Lumberton, and the late Mr. and Mrs. Billy R. Dunn of Roanoke Rapids.
Bedtelyon is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David Bedtelyon of Fayetteville. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. John Goins and the late Jay Bedtelyon, of Fayetteville, and Mr. and Mrs. Roger and Joy Reed, of Michigan.
The couple will exchange wedding vows on July 21 in Fayetteville.
WEDDING
Morris
Adriana Nicole Locklear and Jason Marion Morris of Lumberton were married at 4 p.m. on April 14 at Southeastern Agriculture Farmer’s Market. The Rev. Anthony Hardin officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Donna Hammonds and Mr. and Mrs. Carlie Locklear, and the granddaughter of John C. and Essie Locklear, and Lee Hammonds and Edith Chavis. She attended Lumberton High School and Robeson Community College and works for Lumbee Guaranty Bank.
The groom is the son of Sherry Norris and Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Cain, and the grandson of the late Jake Norris and Martha Prevatte, and Malcom and Mavis Cain. He attended Lumberton High School and Robeson Community College and works for Fairmont Public Safety Police Department.
The bridesmaids were Chasity Locklear, Rebecca Scott, Tasha McMillian, Barbara Jacoba, Terri Obershea, Meagan Remier, Chelsie Remier, Brianna Hunt, Katara Oxendine and Heather Locklear.
The best men were Thomas Cain and Mark Faulk, and the groomsmen were Karl Locklear, Bradley Bullard, Luis Cruz, Forrest Obershea and Chad Atkinson.
The flower girls were Leanna Locklear and Makayla Jones, the ring bearer was Nicolas Locklear and the miniature groomsman was Jayden Locklear.
The musician was Ricky Lowry, and the wedding director was Gina Britt Willoughby.
The bridal shower was a Pampered Chef’s party hosted by Mickey Williamson. A shower was hosted by Donna Hammonds and Sherry Norris at the Soaring Eagle Building. The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the bride and groom at the Fairmont Community Center. The reception was hosted by the bride and groom at Southeastern Agriculture Farmer’s market.
Following a honeymoon at a Sandal’s resort in St. Lucia, the couple will reside in Lumberton.
Hargrove
Leah Adrienne Carmical and Zachary Brandon Hargrove were married at 5:30 p.m. on May 26 at Sam Jones Memorial United Methodist Church in Cartersville, Ga.
The bride is the daughter of Stan and Beth Carmical of Lumberton, and the granddaughter of Dorothy Hayes and the late A.C. Hayes, and the late Bill and the late Rose Carmical, all Lumberton. She attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville and double majored with a distinction in International Studies and French. She was an honors graduate.
The groom is the son of son of Jerry and Marion Hargrove, of Cartersville, Ga., and the grandson of the late Marjorie and the late Clyde Jolley of Cartersville, Ga., and the late T.S. Hargrove of Roswell, Ga., and the late Eve Havens, Silsbee,Texas. He attended the University of North Carolina at Asheville with distinction in Atmospheric Science. He works as a teaching assistant with the University of North Dakota where he will continue his graduate studies in meteorology.
A reception was held at the Grand Oaks House in Cartersville, Ga.
The couple will be moving to Grand Forks, N.D.
