Time to let Mike McIntyre know you believe in term limits

To the Editor,

Just in case you missed it, Democratic U.S. Congressman Mike McIntyre, who represents Southeastern North Carolina, was one of 17 Democrats who crossed party lines on June 28 when he voted to hold U.S. Attorney General Eric H. Holder in contempt of Congress. It it was the first time in our nation’s history that a congressional contempt citation was issued against a current cabinet member.

McIntyre clearly has sacrificed the reputation of a good and honorable man in exchange for a shot at bolstering the congressman’s chances of being re-elected to a ninth term.

You may also be interested to know that in June 2011, McIntyre traveled to Europe on a fact-finding mission, which included stops in Rome; Tbilisi, Georgia; Vilnius, Lithuania; Moscow; and Lisbon. The costly 10-day trip was booked and paid for despite our national debt crisis. The trip just happened to coincide with McIntyre’s wedding anniversary. Guess who picked up the tab?

The next time you and your family plan a fact-finding trip to the beach, call Mike and ask if he will pay for it. After all, it seems only fair that he would, since you paid for his.

McIntyre has been in Congress since 1997, and he is now seeking your vote for another term. That would make 18 years in Congress. It was never meant to be a career. When you vote in November, you may wish to let Mike know that you believe in term limits.

A vote to impeach Holder WAS the right thing to do. But as far as McIntyre doing it, HIS vote was just for his own political purposes. If you put McIntyre and Holder in a bag of snakes and shook them up, its a 50-50 bet as to which one would fall out first.

Are you really serious? Are you such a political ideologue that you are ready and willing to defend this Jusice Department and their complete unwillingness to be held accountable for their gun running antics that got border agent Brian Terry and hundreds of innocent Mexican citizens killed by drug cartel? For as much as it has been flamed as a political wedge, I beg to say this is not political at all. It is about competence to hold your job and accountability of the top law enforcment agency in this country being held accountable to the law it is supposed to uphold. An investigation is taking place like it or not and Eric Holder has refused to comply. In any court that will get you much more than a congressional contempt order that comes with no repercussions. You sir are a sick man for inciting this as political adjenda to get re-elected. Mike McIntyre is and has made the correct decision in accordance with law and the constitution of this country. That is something I can't say for the rest of this Democrat administration. The laws of this country apparently mean nothing to you until the day you have been wronged....then you will be begging for justice. I sincerely hope you don't get stone walled like the family of agent Brian Terry. If you do then you will have received exactly what you have asked for.

Hahahaha.... I agree with term limits, and I agree it's time for McIntyre to go, but NOT for voting to hold Holder in contempt. That was the right thing to do.
