LUMBERTON — Free sports physicals will be provided Saturday at the Southeastern Lifestyle Center for Fitness and Rehabilitation to the first 200 high school athletes as part of Touchdown for Health, a free health fair held by the Vonta Leach Foundation and Southeastern Regional Medical Center.
The event will be from from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
There will be a $10 fee for each physical given to any athletes after the first 200, with the proceeds benefiting the Robeson County High School Athletic Association. A parent or legal guardian must be present in order for a student to receive a physical.
During the health fair, people 18 and older can receive free screenings for cholesterol; blood sugar; body mass index; blood pressure; and vascular disease.
Children of all ages can enjoy bouncers, a bungee run and healthy snacks during the event.
Leach, a Rowland native, is a fullback for the NFL’s Baltimore Ravens. He will sign autographs from noon to 1 p.m.
